I'm seeing the same thing in my game. Mine says "Buy <unnamed wantable object category 10096> +4,000 Aspiration." I have all stuff packs and EPs including Bon Voyage installed.

I just got this myself in the game. I'm also running all EPs up to Bon Voyage. I'm going to assume this is a Maxis/EA bug or we all have the same broken mod installed.

After some experimentation, I discovered that
Unnamed Wantable Object Category 10098 for +2,000 ASP is the Sauna.
Unnamed Wantable Object Category 10097 for +500 ASP is the massage table.
Thanks for finding that out! I kept wondering what object that weird number was referring to ...  It's obviously too hard for EAxis to assign a little icon to the corresponding want ...  |

The objects are different, as they are worth 2,000 and 500 asp respectively. Codes: 10098 and 10097.
This has happened today for the first time, after I installed TwoJeff's ACR and SmartBeds yesterday (current updated versions for BV -- ACR is still in testing). However, I *think* it's also the first Fortune sim I play since installing BV, so it may have nothing whatsoever to do with TwoJeffs' mods.
I'd rather not pull those mods because I'm not sure that wouldn't bork things somewhat -- so I'm going to watch this thread and see, does everybody who has the problem also have those mods installed, or not...
(Anyway, this Fortune sim is trying to set aside money, so he's not getting any "buy" wants fulfilled for a while... bwahahahah...)

Oh, I notice now that there is another thread referring to this same problem here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,6142.0.html. This is from October 2006, and people got "unnamed" wants for OFB crafting benches after installing Pets. No answer is found in the thread though... but I thought I'd point it out. |

The unnamed 10096 (worth 4000 asp points) is the hot spring thing.
I have found out because, among all the fortune sims that rolled this want, a pleasure sims rolled it too...

I remember this happening in University too, with some of the new objects, not sure if it was the new musical instruments? Anyhow, it got fixed with a patch. Dunno if the Maxoids are aware of this glitch though. I haven't seen it happen in my game yet, but I haven't really played BV for long.

AnnaM, I don't have either of those mods in my game and I've been getting those unnamed wants since I installed BV. I am glad I am not the only one. I was not looking forward to taking all my mods out . . . again! LOL

My Fortune Sims have also rolled up those wants. I don't have ACR or SmartBeds either.
But, like twistingsims, I'm glad to know others have had the same problem. I thought I killed my game somehow.

Thank you, twistingsims -- it's good to know it's not one of those two mods.
Sounds like it's Eaxis' borkenness then. I can cope -- it just means that my Fortune sims have to suffer. Oh woez. (Evil? Me?) They will be setting up little money-themed shrines in their rooms and praying for a patch to materialize. And the other Sims will be pointing and laughing at them.

I certainly run with both those hacks, although if they are the cause, and if this is the only side-effect, I can live with it, and will keep them in. |
