BV: No primping

Subsequent to installing BV, the "Primp" self-interaction seems to have gone AWOL.

Is it just me? Or is it time for good old "primpfix" to be called up for active duty again?

It is not just you.  "Primp" is screwed up.  So are the pianos.  It just goes to show how much EA appreciates us!  Fixes should be out shortly (if they aren't already).

Looks like it.  I'll check the pianos again, and primping definitely appears to be borked in my game.

Edit: Scratch that.  Both pianos give appropriate boosts to creativity and fun.  Apparently, the issue I read about was someone having a problem with the noise level.  So at least EA did not totally wipe out changes from the Seasons patch!

No sims can primp, certainly. I haven't noticed piano corruption, but it does takes some time to occur, IIRC.

Perhaps to compensate for the lack of primping, Neat sims can now "Lick Clean" plates.

Broken piano seems to be an inconsistent problem - some people have reported problems, and others seem not to have problems.

In my game, pianos add creativity and fun as normal (running only awesome hacks BV versions as per director's cut).  I have now tested this for both the standup and grand pianos.  I do not have a pianofix hack loaded at present.

Would it depend on which EPs a person is running?  I'm only running Base, UNI, and BV.

In case it helps, I was running vanilla with all EPs and SPs when I tested the grand and stand-up.  I've now installed DC, and will run another test just to confirm.

heck I never patched seasons, still had primpfix in. Thus primping is still going on in my neighborhoods.

I'll just reinstall the version from the scrapyard, then. Unless advised otherwise by someone More Awesome Than Me.

ETA: Seems to be working fine. All my sims can primp, no problems.
