I just played a house with a garden for the first time last night after installing this, and I noticed that, while the sim was able to garden (water) all the existing plants, there were no plants actually there. And I was pretty sure they were growing before. Hovering over the plot showed what type of plant and its health, but the appearance was of just a hole in the ground.
I chalked it up to maybe just a graphical glitch, but now you have me wondering...

Posted by: Chrisy I just tried this new shiny bundle of awesomeness to discover some sorta sad bug... My almost harvestable garden was reset back to seed and then it didn't grow again. I had to compost everything and replant after removing the hack. *tears* I installed today and my gardens were reset as well. But about 24 sim hours later they started growing again. So just give it some time.

I'm still getting visible bugs from trees and plants. These are new gardens planted after the hack was installed.

I also have incredible lag when I use multiple sprinklers. The screen would stutter a lot.

Uh, this thread is about bugs not sprinklers. I also was going to ask about adding an anti-lag for garden sprinklers in this hack. i figured the Anti Garden Lag would cover any lag dealing with gardens.

I believe someone on MTS2 has already done an anti-sprinkler lag.

Gotcha, it's a hack by Numenor http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=222748 The reason i asked was you had mentioned the lag from the Garden Sprinklers earlier, so i was kinda hoping you already had something in your secret stash.

Still getting the visible bugs. How come this fix works for everyone but me?

No my game doesn't lag either, but still.....I don't want to see the bugs, especially when we aren't allowed to macro>spray At least I'm not the only one this fix doesn't work for. It's annoying though.

The same thing happens in my game. After thinking about it, maybe it's just supposed to be a preemptive measure. If you add the lady bug houses beforehand the pests shouldn't show up, right?

No - the ladybugs eat the pests, they don't prevent them from coming.

Ladybugs do a sort of both, after a fashion, much like how a Ring of Regeneration can prevent damage. The bug logic still runs, but they are consumed by the ladybug effect almost immediately and thus the player never has to deal with it. Note that multiple lady bug houses are unnecessary: Ladybug houses provide protection to everything within their radius, regardless of how many items there are or how many ladybug houses there are. The effect does not stack.

So the obvious question is, what's the radius of the ladybug house? 4 squares? 8? The whole lot?

Yes; TwoJeffs has a 'always perfect gardens' version of his 'always perfect plants' over on the Inteen site.

Oh, yea, I've had that one forever. I got tired of sims and/or gardeners constantly bitching about not being able to reach some plants.

Those little triangle flowerbeds don't get watered if they are placed next to a diagonal foundation or wall-they always die. That's why I got the PP hack I'm not one for loads of shrubs and flowers in my sim gardens anyway, but I like to have a few at the front of my houses.

another way to be sure and have no bugs is to build a green house. You can even have trees in the greenhouse also, I always put my garden and trees in one, and have never had a bug once I did that.
My garden plots look like this..
WWWWWWWWW W W W PPP TT PPP W W PPP TT PPP W W PPP TT PPP W W W W PPP TT PPP W W PPP TT PPP W W PPP TT PPP W W W W PPP TT PPP W W PPP TT PPP W W PPP TT PPP W W W WWWWDDWWWW
W = Greenhouse walls D = Greenhouse door P = Plants T = Trees
And no bugs... Just good food...

That's why I got the PP hack Another stupidity is that Sims can't trim shrub even over the lowest mortar fence. If they could walk over it, they should damn well be able to reach their hands over it, but no. Until Seasons came out, I used Windkeeper's Plastic Shrubs and Flowers in such occasions, but now they stand out like a sore thumb in snowy winter garden. A seasonal-working hacked shrub set which does not require trimming would be awesome.

same problems as everyone else: ladybugs are gone =========================== Me too I can see pests on the plants. I have about 10 plots and the lag is not so strong, anyway I guessed this mod should remove the pests visual effects at all?
Also I desperately look for a mod that descrease the chance for plants of being infected. I have seen it I guess on MTS2 bt now I cannot find it. May be tip about how to do it by myself? I'd like to see that ladybugs work is really helpful, my sim had to dispose all plants as they was all almost died though ladybug house was near by...
thank you
