New Taxi Drivers and Wedding Parties - Related???
« on: 2007 July 16, 01:31:35 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

So, I was scrolling through the Sim Browser for my favorite neighborhood in SimPE today.  I noticed that there seemed to be a whole lot of taxi drivers in this particular 'hood.  (Disclaimer: I am assuming that all these guys are taxi drivers based on their outfits; I did not check each and every one in plugin view.)  I counted the total number of taxi driver NPCs and I got 58.   Shocked

I was quite alarmed by this discovery, so I checked my character files folder.  I found that 54 character files were generated on May 20th.  Then I went into my error logs folder and found three error logs from May 20th, all related to a wedding party.  Now, it's been almost two months so my memory of this wedding is a little fuzzy.  But I do remember that when the limo showed up at the end of the party, the bride and groom were not able to get into the limo.  Somehow, the wedding party timer started over again, but the guests had already gone home so we got a bad score on the second party.

I wanted to know if this is a known bug, or if the wedding party limo and the new taxi drivers are not related at all?  I can attach one or more of the error logs if needed.  Also, should I consider scrapping this 'hood altogether?  My total character file count is now up to 579.   Shocked

Thanks!

Dear God, that's going to take forever!  Oh, well.  I'll get started on it tomorrow.  Thanks for your advice, oh Awesome One.

What about the total character file count?  Is this neighborhood really worth all this effort?

Assuming you have an EP later than NL, then you're still pretty low on total characters.  NL (maybe even Uni) raised the number where problems start to some really large number, so 500+ is pretty ok.

Okay, thanks!  Yes, I have all EPs and stuff packs.

I went through all my character files, and it appears that outside of this one event the vast majority of them were created when I installed expansion packs.  So, I guess it does make sense that 500+ is okay.

It would appear that way.  Didn't know this was 'haiku day'...

It would appear so. The top one isn't a proper haiku, unlike every other answer he's posted today.
Should be:

Deleting sim files
not quiteas bad as it sounds
Mostly contagious

unless he's pronouncing some of those words southern-style and throwing in extra syllables there.

His said 'contiguous', which has 4 syllables. You're right about the second line, though. I feel kinda... let down Sad

Three and fifty files
I have just "Deleted 2".
That took forever.   Tongue

Anyway, I have a question about Deleted 2.  While I was preparing my characters for deletion with the lot debugger, the selected sim kept dropping the delete action out of his queue.  Somehow I must have gotten confused and one of my character files slipped through without getting prepared for deletion.  I did not discover this until after I had already deleted her SDSC in SimPE.  I went back into SimPE and manually deleted her SWAF file.  I could not find any references to her in any other sims' relationship files.  Is there anything else I should do to make sure she is completely prepped for deletion before I pzorch her character file?

Thanks again!   Smiley
