THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Well, I installed that new patch. Before doing so, I forgot to make sure everyone was at home, so now one of my family's cars dissappeared since one of the sims took it to work. The game obviously thinks it's just away at work since the parking space is reserved for it. How can I get it back? Huh

That's what I do when my cars bork, without the excuse of the patch.  Roll Eyes

I think this results in a permanently lost car hanging around in the offworld. I should code something to detect this case and retrieve missing cars.

You absolutely must name the option "Dude, where's my car?"

That would be awesome. And indeed, it must be named 'Dude, where's my car?'.

I lost two damn Mustangs to lot reload. I wish someone would have told me about that...at least it finally got me to start 'Patch Proofing' my game.

I got a missing car back using the Lot Debugger not to long ago. I think I forced errors/off world

I've had a couple missing cars come back on their own... I forget what would trigger it but I'd get a pop-up that said the car wanted to return and I needed to make room for it, usually a generation or more after it went missing  Roll Eyes

I actually caused this to happen once when I sent a sim to work in the car.  I had her engaged to another sim living in the hood and got them married at his lot, forgeting that she was at work in the car on her lot.  opps.

When I went back to her original lot I got the notification that the car wanted to come back too.  And it did all by itself.  I half expected it to talk to the other sims with a slight British accent and have that little red light in the grill going back and forth.  XD

Funny! I've just had a lot of ghosts do that. I have pics at home (at work now). Charisma was in the process of drinking the entire neighborhood population, and I went onto a lot to age up one of the kids so that they would be drinkable. To my surprise, there's Mom and Dad hanging around. Mom disappeared right away, but Dad actually answered the phone and had a lengthy conversation before he noticed that he was a ghost. I had a ghost feeding a baby on another lot, and a ghost lounging on the couch elsewhere.
