Fireflies

I have seen fireflies in the yard several times, and I've had kids who want to catch them, but I have no idea how you go about getting your Sim to try catching them.  Is there a special object they have to use, or some option to click?  Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but I don't have the Prima guide and I can't figure it out.

Click on the fireflies,option comes up to catch if the sim can.

Click on the ground at night and select "Catch Fireflies"

I forgot to tell my sims to let the butterflies go free after they caught them in the jar. Next morning all the butterflies were dead.

The Seasons readme.txt lists a cheat to keep the fireflies alive once your Sim catches them in the jar:

bugJarTimeDecay  [on|off]
Should you catch any fireflies in a jar, enabling this cheat will make them live forever! (makes for alluring lighting!)

Maybe this cheat works for butterflies in a jar too? Or maybe that's a different object in the game.

Pretty far from it. Colorado, USA. I used to have dreams where I was a kangaroo, so maybe I spent a long past lifetime in that sector of the globe.
