Right so I've reinstalled everything, including Pets for the first time and have set up most of my sims and lots so decided to play one, since I made a sim of one of my dogs and she looked so sweet.  Anyway, I tried to get her a job through the newspaper and all I get is:

$FullNameLocal:0

Anyone know what this is/means?

You have a mod which is not updated for Pets, and it messes up the job menu.

Monique's bring home friends requires an update for one.

Oh crap.  Thanks for explaining.  Is it any mod or hack that is conflicting?  What I mean is, I have them set up in categories, whether it's global or otherwise or a hacked object.  Should I check in all of them?  Sorry if I'm not being coherent - it's been a long day.

It most likely is a single hack which just isn't Pets compatible.

I know this mod has the problem (get the EP4 update), and likely any other mod which influences the job/newspaper/friends/computer menu in any way needs to be checked for Pets compatibility as well.

Thanks again, but I don't have that hack in.  I will investigate further...
