Disappearing sinks- random
« on: 2007 February 01, 16:33:37 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Some of the sinks that go into counters have started disappearing. I use them a few times-or don't use them at all, but at no specific time and incident, I find that they have gone missing.

It's not a graphical error. I can buy a new sink and replace it, but I dunno why it happens.

I don't play in debug mode too often, and as this is a random incident, I haven't got a log.

Has anybody else had this and does anybody know what triggers this?

It has happened 3 times in one of my houses with a custom counter and a custom sink, and once in a house with a maxis-counter, maxis-sink.

Not too much of a problem, still annoying, nonetheless.   Undecided

hmmm, that's one that I haven't run into.
I know that those types of sinks can be dodgy when custom made.  I'm not sure why Maxis one are doing it...I wonder if you have a custom sink that is conflicting with the Maxis ones.  Lots of times when something goes wrong with a Maxis object, it's due to a faulty custom one.  I've had weird issues with a Maxis table, and I finally found the culprit file which was a custom table.  It took a lot of trial and error with my downloads folder to hone it down to the correct table.

Maybe I phrased it wrong. It disappears off of the counter. One minute my sim is washing his hands, a couple of sim-days later the countertop is empty, like there never was a sink there.

I've had things go completely missing before also.  The BRY Swastika leads the list.  I've also had a custom car disappear on me (and no, it wasn't the case where someone goes to work in it and comes home in the carpool).  It was there, then the next morning (without quiting the lot) it was gone. They have been rare occurances thankfully.

Um, it's a Soviet Hammer and Sickle -- a Swastika is a totally different thing....

My apologies.   My brain wasn't co-operating at the time.
