how can you tell if your sim became popular on campus?

When the desire for being "Big" on campus goes away.  If you click on the want in your want panel it will tell you how to achieve that want. Being "big" on campus is fulfilled by getting a certain number of friends or best friends. I can't remember the exact number, but I think the want panel picture will tell you. You should also get a memory for it. |

If I remember correctly, it's when you max out your influence meter's size or something. You have to be the "most influential," but that's all that I recall.

It's best friends, and I can tell you that it's more than ten (having had a Sim not manage to acheive the want just last night), I think it's 15, but can't be 100% sure on that.

From what I've seen, a sim becomes "big man/woman on campus" when they max their influence meter.
It doesn't have to be best friends, either - just friends. I've never counted just how many is needed, though.

I've never actually had a sim turn up the 'want' to be big on campus. It definitely doesn't require 'best friends',t hough. Just 'Friend' would be fine. Of course, the influence meter goes up when they gain a new friend, not a new best friend.

20 best friends - that's the number.
It's quite a normal want in Popularity sims, sometimes I saw it in Knowledge and Fortune.
You have to lock the want, if you are going to fulfil it, not to lose the points.

No, becoming big on campus is different to fulfilling the 20 best friends LTW, or hitting the 30 best friends power want.

It stupidly doesn't have to be campus friends, either. I've had popularity sims who had their 20 friend LTW before they went to college.

The sims gets a custom memory which can sneak in under the radar if it that sim didn't have a want to be 'big sim on campus'. I've found that most romance sims achieve it after I started using ACR and installed double beds/hot tubs in the dorms.

You need 12 friends (not best friends) to be 'big on campus' They don't have to all be students or domies though. If you mouse over the influence meter it tells you how many friends your sim needs to reach the next influence level. My sim only needs 2 more friends to be big on campus. It shows up in the sim's memories too once it is achieved as the 'jacket' icon.

TwoJeffs needs to add that into ACR. I'm starting a new neighborhood with a romance YA, it would be perfect for her. I'll chime in to confirm that my sims always achieve the Be Big on Campus when they max their influence meter at 12 non family friends. I always try to achieve this, because then they are pretty much set for the max number of friends that most careers require. I think there are just 2 of the Uni careers that require up to 14 family friends. |

Even if my Sims don't get "Big on Campus," I have them call every Sim in the College Directory. Then when they get home, they've got someone they can call at any time 7am-1am and make a quick friend if needed for promotion.
