Max Flexor's twin daughters recently were gifted two standard poodle puppies. During the morning play with the pups, the school bus and Max's limo arrived. Off they went. Problem is the pups went with them. Fortunately they returned safe and sound after school/work (Max had one; kid had the other).
No such happy ending when the family Servo later played with a pup and I noticed a doggy dish needed filling. Servo went right over and filled the dish - but yikes! The puppy he was carrying was mixed with the dog food and became puppy chow. Pup's icon disappeared from the family lineup as he morphed into kibble while being poured into the bowl!
Saved the pup by exiting without saving and while this may make for a good horror flick, I wonder if puppy cannibalism was the programmers' intent.
BTW, the Maxis/EA dog genetics truly suck. The pups' parents were standard poodles. One is now a replica of his dad and the other looks like an albino devil dog.

Wow. It looks like they just take different breed "parts" and stick them all on one skeleton. Gross. My two Labradors had a puppy that was essentially a tan Dalmation. At first I thought he was dirty, but no, he's tan with little black spots.

I've heard of Sims taking babies to work but wow! Here's an unfortunate pup of Abbey the adoptable dog and a husky I made in CAP:  Your dog reminds me of this dog's offspring with the other adoptable dog named Cleo. It's cool to see what kind of fur combinations they can do...gotta love Sim genetics.  |

I've had the same thing happen with the disappearing, only it was my people. I actually saved and re entered the lot and there they were safe and sound. Don't know what causes it, and it's pretty rare, but it's happened to me enough to know it doesn't really effect them at all. I just exit and re enter as soon as it happens
