More hidden music in Pets

Does OFB have any hidden tracks?

No, only NL and Pets have hidden music. I checked all the expansions and SPs as well as the base game.

Qwiggles: you should have ended up with a {hexadecimal string}.mp3 file and an XML file. Delete the XML file, and rename the mp3 file according to its ID3 tags (right-click it and read its properties on the last tab), or according to the lsit provided by Dizzy.
It is probably best to extract the resources one-by-one.

Finally got it!  I was renaming the darn things while I was saving/extracting them and for some reason the files didn't become mp3.  Aagghhh...  I have no clue what I'm talking about!  But all's well...  I'm gonna go listen to 'em now.  Thanks again.

I have a dumb question--why do you have to get at these through SimPE? Is there no other way--can't you just access them through your folders somehow. Thanks.

You could use dz_utils (ls and extract), but that involves using the DOS box.

Open the 'Run...' dialog in the Start menu, type in cmd, hit ok.

This is so cool. The Official Dutch TS2 site promoted the Krezip song pre-release of Petz, that is, you were able to download it if you paid a small fee. I was going to look for this song since I've been extracting musicfiles since uni to put on my ipod but forgot all about.

This is great, I'll be extracting the hidden ones first thing tomorrow! ^^

...am I missing something, or doing this wrong? Should I be checking ALL the folders for Pets & Nightlife?

   I have to say I'm baffled as to why anyone would want to listen to any of the music that comes with the game, even in the game, let alone on its own. I go to great lengths to assure that I don't have to hear any of the Maxis-supplied music, ever. I don't know how to replace the karaoke music (or if it is even possible), so I never let my sims use a karaoke machine. (I almost never let them have a television, either.)

NOw that I have discovered the wonder and the glory that is the Skillinator, my Sims don't really have time for TV. But once and a while I'll want to place one. I assume you know about this tip:

I hate the TV on the Sims. I don't own one IRL either. My Sims are either on the computer or reading a book, like me. 

For some reason I like the kareoke machine. "OOOGY OOGY OOOH!"

They are Techno songs that I assume install in all games.

But what I really wanted to know is what country did you find Cansei de Ser Sexy: Gabloodip neep (Computer Heat) because I cannot seem to locate it.

I noticed that the College Rock station is playing more tunes than before I installed FFS, GLS, Holiday and Pets (all of which I got for Christmas).  Does that have anything to do with these hidden music files?

Nope, that's just the new stuff from Pets. You won't hear these hidden music files unless you use their locales, or extract them.

This is a very informative thread.  I didn't know that SimPE could extract .mp3 files before reading it.
