Just got Pets. About the least challenging of the EP's to date.
Surprisingly the computer seems to be stuttering. The mac has developed pauses where it never did before. Patricularly seems to dislike adding a pet to a family although it does get over it after the first time.
Is the coding especially nasty?

Sims = challenging? Error: does not compute.

Lack of RAM? Not a beefy enough video card?

I have 2GB of RAM and I still get massive lags when sims change into and outof their werewolf shape.  I also get lags when pets are promoted at their job.

With 4GB SDRAM I cannot think that the machine is underpowered in that respect. As for the video card it is a decent if not brilliant ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. The odd freezes persist.

I've noticed that when an animal is about to enter the lot, my game lags horribly, and I have a pretty decent system.  I never had any noticable lag before when anyone or anything came onto a lot, but now, when my game "freezes" for a second or two, I know an animal is going to show up.

Doesn't seem to matter if it's a dog, cat, skunk or wolf.  They all do it.

Use TwoJeffs' visitor controller and ban most of the critters.
