THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Anyone know if there are any hacks around that stop sims getting job promotions? Did a quick search, but couldn't find anything. Thanks, guys.

Alienate all their friends and ignore the chance cards?

I usually low one skill 1 point below the score needed for promotion. Skills, of course, not raising automously (i.e. not cleaning, cooking, etc.).

I do the skill point drain as well.

If a sim has a LTW to reach the top of any career, as soon as they do, I get them to find a new job, drain a skill to be below one of the required levels (never cooking, and preferably not mechanical), and then off they go.  If they get promoted through a chance card I let them have that, but again make sure skills are low enough that they won't be promoted automatically.
