I have alot of useless clothes which appear in swimwear etc. even though its a dress or a suit. I know its possible to do it in SimPE, but i cant find a tutorial on how. Anyone help?

The easiest way....
Open simpe, run Tools > Scan Folders.  Make sure clothing scanner is selected.  Scan for files (if you have your downloads categorized it's faster to just scan the clothing folders).
Sort by category, uncheck the categories you don't want and click on "set" (the updates won't show unless you scan again, but it does take).

Oh thank God. People have been telling me forever that I can use SimPE to edit clothing categories but they'd never answer my follow up on exactly how to do that.

It'd be funny to make a suit of armor in the swimsuit category, only if your sim actually tries to swim in it, he promptly drowns.
