White Elder Male Faces in CAS Hair Thumbnails

Anybody know offhand what could cause the CAS Elder Male face thumbnails in the Hair section, and only those thumbnails, to have blank white faces like a mesh with no texture, and how it can be fixed?  I've tried deleting the usual suspects (CASthumbnails.package, cigen.package and groups.cache) and no dice.  The problem doesn't affect Body Shop, only CAS.

Face template file corruption? Back when I was having harddisk issues some of my teen faces became all white. Turned out the facial template set I was using at the time had become corrupted.

Hmm, doesn't appear to be...taking out my templates seems to have no effect.  : /

Thumbnail files are probably corrupted -- just delete them and let the game rebuild them.

Tried that first thing, doesn't seem to help.  Unless there's a different set of thumbnails than the ones in the Thumbnails folder?

No, I believe the thumbnails in that folder are the only ones.
