Making a beach community lot

I need to throw together a beach commiunity lot for a contest and was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I should begin.

Choose a neighborhood with a desert terrain is a good start: instant sand.  It's probably worth trying to locate your lot near water for a good background for any photos you plan to take.  Then head over to a good CC site or two like modthesims2 and thesimsresource and run a search for "beach" or "ocean" or possibly "vacation".  Then it's a matter of your taste in decorating being similar to the judge's.  Beach locations are great places to have outdoor restaurants, swimming pools, perhaps a spa, maybe some sort of place to dance, that kind of thing.

TSR did a beach theme week so if you have a sub there you could get a lot of good stuff

Holy Simoly have some really nice weathered boards for beach houses, they come in all sorts of nice colours.
