THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Does anyone know where I can get some nice ethnic hair for my sims? I've managed to find about two, but everything else on the web is straight hair and curls.

This has a short and sassy style that I have been using for two years. Kenya, the vicar's wife in Thyme, sports it right now. Looks great.

Look in beauty.

N99 has some braids that are really great in the file share friendly area:

Hmm...this ethnic hair sounds interesting.

But me, I'd be happy if half my townies weren't sporting the darkest skintone and red hair. The sadorandom generator loves to churn those out. Along with mohawked nannies.

My only competent nanny has a mohawk. She's messy, nice and outgoing, so she pays some attention to the toddler or child and doesn't just spend all her time scrubbing things and poking people. But yes, really dark skin, red hair and green eyes isn't the most lovely combination on a Sim, and it does seem to be dominant in my neighborhood as well.

I have the same problem, what annoys me more is that they almost always get the mousey face.  Sad

Hello. Try these:

At modthesims2.com and other sites, do a search under the category for "hair" for

dreds, dreads, dreadlocks, dredlocks, braids, cornrows, plats, platts,
twists, curls, ethnic, afro, african, jazzy, jazz, waves

And as they always say, don't forget the mesh...

Yeah, I like the red hair and dark skin mixture myself... I would rather blue eyes though.

I also like http://www.xmsims.com/sims2/ehtm/hair/hair34.htm from XM Sims.

The only problem with the mesh is that on a teenager, there's a little gap at the back of the neck. It drives me crazy, but I absolutely love this hair style. It is incredibly perfect for one of my sims.

I wouldn't mind some ethnic hair for my latino/african american mixed Sims.  Unfortunately, because these people are mixed, they have big lips, poofy cheeks, and the #3 skintone.  Sometimes the #1 skintone and that looks worse!   Undecided

Thanks to everyone who pointed me in the right direction. Now I have a few more options for my black and latino sims.

Haven't had the nanny with a mohawk (that must be a sight), but dark skin sim with red hair and green eyes, definitely.  I usually insimenate them. Maxis generator sucks.

Wait... I thought all nannies were elders, which would mean she had white hair, wouldn't it?

All nannies are elders.
A mohawk can be any colour, including grey.
