Duplicate GUIDs in character file
« on: 2005 August 30, 15:38:32 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

One of my Sims' character files got corrupted during the transition from teen to adult.  He looks like a teen but acts like an adult.  (And no, he's not a YA; he acts like a regular adult in a teen's body.)  When I bring up the Sim Browser in SimPE, it lists him twice, with the same GUID (the value in the last column of the Sim Browser is different, though).  SimPE gives a warning message telling me about the duplicate, but I have no idea how to get rid of the extra one.  Can anybody help?

I would leave it alone except that I want to fix this Sim's family tree (it doesn't list any of his family members) and I get an error when I click on this Sim (or any of his relatives) in the Family Ties screen in SimPE.

Thanks,
Karen

I can't actually help you, but I wonder if it's linked to the problem I have with Beau Broke, who had difficulty moving back to Pleasantview, and now has a character file twice the size of any other, over 1200kb.  I rather think the same kind of thing has happened, except that one file is stuck inside the other, and SimPE is only showing me one, which appears normal until I have a look at file 00010!
