I've a challenging request
« on: 2006 June 20, 17:54:59 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

One of the intresting part of that game is "Torturing Townies"  Grin

i like to play without abusing of special object like Insiminator & c.

i've a "townies killer" on my niegborhood..
and on the underground of his home there is a jail..
it work in a realy simple way.

i made a story some time ago..where you can see how ...

i use the University door.. and it's locked..
i call the townies they come.. they enter on a jail but they can't exit .. 'cause the door didn't grant the access  Grin Grin

The problem is that, now (i've Open For Business) they didin't die !!!
oh hell !!!
i try and try and try again ... but they didn't die Sad
the townies say.. "i've to go... bye bye..."
naturally they can't exit..
but i can't interact with 'em.. and i can't kill 'em Smiley
they fall on the floor 'cause the need to sleep, and they pee around the jail...
.. some time they cry .. but they didn't die !

so.. my last hope is to ask.. is it fixable ?
could you ? would you ?

my serial killer are soo sad plz help !

Yea, that changed with OFB to prevent townie deaths on community lots (I think was the reason).  Pescado was working on a hack to fix that, and I believe it was in testing, but I don't think he's completed it yet.

I have a townie killing device on one of my lots. The one where the working Sim is an Ecological Guru.  Grin

Yea, to be entirely correct, you can't kill townies by just walling them in and starving them anymore. You have to use something like a cow plant, or a fire producer (the fire jets from NL are handy for this) to kill them.  Or drop a satellite on them with Insim's suicide function. Or the ever popular "have them go swimming in a pool without a ladder". Smiley

The Cowplant is the best of these, because you actually get an in-game benefit from destroying the townie in question. (Of course, none of these are particularly wonderful for the continued longevity of your neighbourhood, but that's another matter.)

negative !

if they say "bye bye" you could try to burn 'em.. kill 'em ... eat 'em  Grin (cow plant case)..
but they didn't die ! Sad

ATM  i'm using the The EldrichTome Necronomicon(Al Azif)-Animated Spellbook which is one of the coolest sims killer stuff  Grin

with the tome you made a sim to fall in sleep.. or you can burn him immediatly...
when i capture a sim on my jail (which that isn't a community loot, it's a residential one) they will burn.. but they didn't die

btw i've tryed to take the control of the "living" sims and it have a "leave loot" command in queue..
ive paused the game, removed the command, and used Insiminator's suicide ... when i've removed the pause, the sim's queue was be restored and my last command was removed Undecided

so, you can kill the townies only if he didn't say "bye bye"
maybe Pescado can change it  Smiley

Just add Pescado's notownieregen hack, and you won't keep getting new townies to replace the dead ones unless you make them yourself.

Besides, if you're worried about the number of character files, as discussions here in the past have stated, the maximum number since NL is now pretty high before it starts causing problems.

The cow plant always works, and TwoJeffs has a buyable career reward collection here in his section. Smiley And I'm still pretty sure you can drown them (I'll have to try it later  Grin ).

But it doesn't matter if it's a residential or community lot -- the game was changed to prevent townie deaths from most of the normal methods anywhere.  It's the usual Maxis 'use a mallet to kill a flea' approach to problem solving. Smiley

intresting.. i could add a room to my jail with another university door..
with the cowplant inside..
when i want to kill the towny i just have to open the door .. lol
that intresting

BTW they will never be illness ... and they will never die 'cause illness, hunger.. or something like that..

i think should need a global mod that will permit to the townies to be vulnerable
so they can

• Get a Cold
• Get the Flu
• Get pneumonia
• Get Food Poisoning

and die just like any other sim...  Grin

No, we need less plague, not more!

Anyway, you may be interested in killablevisitors.package.

NOTE: The linked hack is in testing and may (or may not) blow up your game in a big firey ball visible from space.

Killing sims in the pool without a ladder is bad! You get ghosts that wander around leaving trails of puddles everywhere.

Yep. I had one drowned ghost that trailed puddles everywhere on the lot. The puddles were everywhere in the street and inside the house, but on the lawn they disappeared and caused weeds to grow instead. Cleanup was a pain in the butt.

I tried to drown a townie and by simday 5 he was still swimmin around.  By simday8 I gave up and sent him home.  Saw him at community lots later - not a scratch on him (dammit).  He deserved it.  He ravaged my sims money tree one too many times.

I just don't understand what's so joyful about killing townies. If you love killing so much, why not play other killing games where it is so easy to blow  a leg and hand off some character without going through this bunch of hassle?
Just wondering  Huh

There's nothing joyful about it but they are just pixels.  I didn't make the townies, the game did.  Besides, killing in the sims is nothing like killing in other games.  I hate blood and guts games and anything with loud noises (like guns).  And it's not like I kill a sim all the time.  And often it's part of a storyline.

I don't relate it to wars and such at all.  Does anyone else?

That's not a Venusy patch, that's just something in the test directory that Venusy linked to. Tongue
