Tombstones - where'd they go?

I made a lovely cemetery (community lot) in the shopping district, but when my sims die and I click on the tombstones and get the option to move the tombstone to another lot, when I go to that lot, there are no tombstones.  Where are they going then?

I have Nightlife and OFB, but no patches installed. 






P.S. - How long do I have to be an asinine airhead?

to name just a few.  Put "gravestones" in your search instead of tombstones. 

As for the title, seems I was an assinine airhead for the longest time, now suddenly I've jumped two levels and didn't notice right away

Have you looked on the sidewalk by the mail box and garbage can?

At one point when some of my tombstones went missing, a quick scroll around the lot found them up a back corner.  No idea why but at least they showed up.
