My pop sim's easy enough 20 best friends LTW is failing to kick in.

He's got something like 27 at the last count.

Does the count exclude relatives by marriage?

It apparently does exclude family, as I so rudely found out a couple days ago (don't you just want to kick a sim who keeps looking up at "you" with a face that says "you're a moron" when clearly HE is the moron?).  My sim had to go make a few more outside friends and then the plat kicked in.  finally.  And then I killed him.  So who got the last laugh there?

The counting on that want seems to be a little buggy, it will satisfy itself, then come right back again. Why? I dunno.

I've always found that, if they reach it while at Uni, then family count because they are no longer sharing a house.  (Lilith got it easily in one game, as eight of her friends were family! (9 after Coral and Herb adopted a child.))
