OFB really did screw up the townies

is there a way to fix this?

It randomly picks any NPC, townie, or playable character from your neighbourhood. I suppose there is a chance some of the "Untouchable" NPCs might come in.

Short Answer: No, it's by design.

to make it easier:
I was creating a new neighborhood with brand new townies. I decided to send in my dummy im to make some townies via boolprop.
it did what it was told but it cloned Mrs Crumplebottom, Grim Reaper and some random townies. it is really confusing me and I think that a patch should fix this!

I got one of the burglers in shopping for flowers one day. 

Maybe the reaper is just shopping for coffins.

I think he means that his game is making more than one of the essential NPCs, so he now has more than one Crumblebottom and more than one Reaper.

I think this was a problem mentioned in another thread as well...

Did you use them with the mailbox cheat?  If so, don't worry.  Most of mine were either the Grim Reaper, Mortimer or John Burb, but they were all normal townies when they appeared in the game.  It wouldn't make them all though, it kept stopping, so I ended-up with loads of them and had to delete the vast majority.  In the end I went back to the default set and gave them all surgery.
