So what is it about the greet/goodbye code...

that causes one sim to greet another with a giant smooch, when they've never had a single romantic interaction, neither has ever checked the other out, neither has done scope room with the other present, etc.? The Sims that prompted the question did have pretty high chemistry, and were best friends by the time she tried to kiss the breath out of him (but they'd just met by way of her bringing him home from work the first time she kissed him goodbye).

I didn't ask about logic, I asked about Maxis code.

And that's pretty much what I took it as, ZZ, but I'm curious about exactly what determines it.

Not a clue, really, unless it happens by mistake!  But have you checked to see if these two sims have LBs for each other?
