THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Same problem as it happened pre-fratfix: level 6 Greek house, 3 members, can't "propose/move-in" a new member but proposer's LR > 80 with the new sim. Game is patched with NL patch and most of JMP's fixes and mods are installed. I can work around the problem but it's annoying. Hints, theories, suggestions?

How many friends do they have collectively? I have found that I need them to have a fair few number of friends before I can propose-move in to new GH members.

You could try the moveinall hack from MTS2 which needs a lower relationship score, but I don't know if it works with Greek Houses.

House has 29 friends.

moveinall hack is installed.

To expand a little on the initial problem report, I am unable to pledge anyone nor is "propose/move in" available when it should be. I double checked the patch status and the EP2 patch is installed (installer announces "game is up to date" when I run it).

A work around was simple enough so I guess it's no big deal. I changed the lot back to residence and moved the sim. I decided not to re-establish the Greek house as it's more trouble than it's worth. So much for the Nightlife patch fixing all the problems with Greek houses.

Sounds like the patch caused this problem!  I'm beginning to think we should back everything up before installing a patch, then if the patch is more trouble than it's worth, at least we don't have to reinstall, and we have unpatched copies of the game folders so we can just go back to square one!

That's definitely what I'm going to do if and when I get around to installing the patch.  Right now I have a lot of other things going on and can't be bothered with bug testing Maxis' latest crap, I mean patch.  Wink

I think your first description was probably pretty accurate!!!  I haven't installed it either - why should I when my game is working pretty well without it?

As a side-note:  yesterday I finally got sick of Windows explorer crashing on me and went ahead, bit on the bullet and installed ServicePack2.  Guess what, first time I tried to open my documents folder, Windows explorer crashed!  So, I thought, this is a complete waste of space (it had reduced my available HD space from around 40% to under 30%!  so I went into Add/Remove Programs and removed it - except I couldn't!  I am left with only a slight improvement in the available HD space, a load of hidden files called "uninstall KBXXXXX", no means of knowing which updates came with SP2 and which I already had - PLUS all my Restore Points are GONE!

And we complain about Maxis!

I haven't observed any sign of problems with pledging anyone, nor is there any apparent sign the code was changed, but I can check it next time I get a chance.

You mean I should switch to SP2, even though it's not solving the problem of Windows Explorer?  Even though it's filled my hard drive with crap that I can't get rid of?  Why?

Why do Mac users always want to persuade you to change?  My niece is the same - keeps on at me to get a Mac, and although she now lives in NY, she must know how expensive they are here in the UK!  My PC was built by a friend, and only cost me for the parts, there's no way I could afford to play sims 2 otherwise!  (Well, not the way I like to play, anyway!)
