THANKS THIS IS GREAT

those laverwinkle houses are great....thanks for the link Grin

i tend to build my own and sometimes i load them up on MTS2. i don't have any up there now as i took them all off
a few days ago
i have to keep to small lots and i quite like a boxy looking house. i can modify it if i want to. the external decorations and simple layouts work very well. those houses with lots of rooms, dormers and corridors are pretty horrendous to play

Not to mention those Maxis houses where they've tried to build a classical villa, or the Summerdream lot where they've tried to make an amphitheatre!  How can you play a house when wherever you turn there's a darn palm tree blocking your view!  (I know you can use the tree-hider, but that's not the point, Maxis didn't have the tree hider, and they allowed those houses into the game!)

It's an extremely useful little object - as is the ceiling light hider!  The really useful thing about them is, when the object is hidden, you can't click on it, even if it normally appears to take up half the room!  (Which some lights, including the Maxis paper moon, appear to do!)

Yes, I noticed that-I tried for ages to click on the baby's crib, not realising the paper moon light was covering it! I've downloaded the ceiling light and tree hiders.

Yes, it's annoying enough when you get a custom ligt that does it, but when it's one of Maxis own and not even a recolour, it's really frustrating!  I used to have one over a dining table and could never click on it to get the sims to clean up - of course, since NL it's rarely necessary, now I want to be able to click on the plate and tell the sim to LEAVE IT ALONE!  (And let one of the other sims clean up ALL the plates!  I get so sick of the trail all over the house to find a free sink!)

heh...that annoys the crap out of me too....if one sim is already clearing up why does everyone else have to get in on the act  Roll Eyes
it's bad enough in a small house, all that schlepping across it to find a sink. then the others decide to just lay the crockery down willy-nilly all over the house

I remember in sims1 that (a) they weren't so keen to clear up, and (b) they would often wait their turn at the sink or dish-washer!

what we need is a hacked dish-washer that somehow prevents sims from trying to use sinks!
