May I ask why Pescado waits 6-8 weeks to get Eps? Does he live in a cave or something?
Can't u read..?  Mr Paper did not say it takes him 6 - 8 weeks to get the game but rather to get it READY.  Where do you think all these improvements come from.  GOD?     LOL

Not exactly..................

We all know he lives in a bunker somewhere, and he has Secret FedEx workers delivering him mail in the middle of nowhere.  Tongue

Nah...it doesn't take him long to check his work and see what needs to be checked out.  There's also Doctor Boris that takes a look at stuff, not to mention that he has 6-8 weeks to read observations and listen to comments and/or complaints and/or bugs that the rest of us experience.

Thanks for the clarification! (And sorry. I have no sense of humor, ask anyone ;)

Thanks also Blue Soup and everyone for the info on SimPE and on the patch itself.

He probably lives at Area-51.............

Nope, a hidden bunker in Montana...

I grew up in Montana, and I can tell you that ol' Teddy K. (Kazinski...Kasynsky...whatever) isn't the only one with tunnels in his basement.

It's the tunnels in the attic rather than those in the basement I find intriguing.

Sheez, why all the hate on Maxis? They release an unexpected patch that fixes many of the things gone wrong and people are griping even before trying it out?

I played for a few hours last night and had no problems so far, no conflicts with the hacks I do have installed.

While Pescado's hacks are assuredly most awesome, I will be the first on the bandwagon to get OFB, whether it becomes awesomized or not. I love the idea of the EP.

The patch may indeed be wonderful and I will be quite happy about it. I'm happy to wait until Pescado looks it over to see what fixes are now obsolete, and what could conflict with other bits of awesomeness. I truly appreciate the patch but I'm a careful gamer. Don't like it when my 'puter goes splodie, it's not a pretty sight! Shocked

I don't particularly hate Maxis and I'm glad they're fixing a few problems.  I just don't like the fact that they did this unannounced and only a week or two before OFB.  Sounds like some kind of ploy to get people to buy it.  It's weird, I noticed quite a few people be instantly interested in OFB just because it has "split-levels" and different shaped roofs.

Face it if Maxis can't fix the other 100 or so bugs that plague the game THAT MODDERS HAVE MANAGED TO FIX they don't deserve an award.  I'm still not too sure on the expansion if i should get it straight away or wait until it's been patched up by J.M.

Torkle is working on a fix for SimPE as far as I know, and I think the only limitation he has to do that is his time, not ability or anything like that.

Nice line, do you permit line-theft?

Thanks very much for all your hard work. I wasn't meaning to be impatient, just wondering if there was still a chance JM would play :)

So what is the "Was Uneducated" memory in SimPE for?  I assumed that was for teens who never went to Uni.
I'm playing the sims in french, so I don't know the words in english exactly. I will look at some of my sims that went to university and drop out and the only one that has been expelled. I think that drop out doesn't have a memory associated, but I can be wrong.

AncientSim : I think the issue with the wrong graduation memory comes from notelepathy : I started to notice these memories after installing notelepathy. Removing it from my downloads stops new "wrong memories" to appear. So I don't think it's a bug from Maxis (for once).

Pioupiou

I just wish every darn townie, NPC and downtownie didn't suddenly spawn the "Went to college" memory, when they quite obviously haven't been!  And why do all the downtownies have friends among the dormies and SS?  And yet the poor little kids who also inhabit the garth Household don't have any friends among the other downtownies at all!  And the number of skill points they have is ridiculous!  Whereas all the downtown teens are totally disaffected because they have no skill points AT ALL!  So, they had skill points as kids, (if they'd ever actually been kids) which they lost when they grew up to teens?  About time the Maxoids started to gain a few logic skill points of their own!
