Custom Content Question
« on: 2006 January 22, 16:41:53 »
THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Does anyone know where I can find sims objects that look like 1700's stuff. I need:

1. 1700's clothes

2. 1700's wallpaper and flooring

3. 1700's Objects

And I am talking, late 1600's, early 1700's stuff. Thank you.

Edit: Yes, I have tried the exchange. Nothing good there.

lol no one here would ever direct you to the exchange.

Try here for clothes : http://www.sussissogoodsims2.com/Fashion.html

All about style has some victoria stuff.  Probably too late for you http://www.all-about-style.com/victorian.html

What we were asking is what is that period called?

Exactly.  I can do pretty good searches, and I did know about the various Victorian-era clothes/sites out there, but that's 1800's, and it's a lot easier to search for a word then some numbers.  Wink

Oh, I am talking about the colinial period (late 1600's, early 1700's). And I should have meade myself more clear. I don't want fancy stuff. I want townsfolk clothing. Like, bonnets, and hats, and townsfolk clothing and hair. Also, I need a black cape suit, with a hood that covers up most of the face. And the cape should be full body. Thank you so much.

try here : http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=99584

It's mostly medieval in theme, but the peasant clothing might be close to what you are looking for. In any case lots and lots of stuff there. There is another web site that's teasing me by being half recalled, but won't come to me.  Must be age.

How did they wear their hair in the colonial period?  This is kinda hard because I can't easily visualize the style of that period.  WHy don't you include a link to some example.

Chinafan Sims had some recolours of the pirate suit made to look 18th Century.

http://sims.enorth.com.cn/

However, I've just checked the site and they don't appear to be there any more.  I couldn't tell what the site policy is on file-sharing, but if you are able to find out, and they are FSF then I'll gladly send you copies.

In that time, men wore black hats(like the pilgrims), and women wore bonnets. The men wore shirts, short pants, with big socks, and feet. The women wore brown(or another color) dresses with aprons. I need this for teen women, adult women, and adult men

Well, All About Style has 18th Century clothing, but it's not what you're looking for, it's clothes for the wealthy, not the poor!

They have a prairie theme, but that's Victorian.

I think you will probably have to  search through a lot of themes at different sites to find what you need.

I know I've seen some colonial style clothing on MTS2, and a bunch of Louis XIV and XVI style furniture. You could try doing a search on that at the site. I think you would have luck with the wallpaper as well, but there is a lot of it, so it is hard to know what to direct you to- I have some painted panels I like in the game, and there is some wallpaper that looks like cloth which I find seems to fit with that era.
