My sim actor had this chance card come up at work and I had never run into it before, sounds like an episode of Friends! I'm hoping its not a hack that hitched a ride.

I haven't seen this one, but I think I've only had one or two sims follow the Show Business career track.

I've seen it - with the Chance Card tester . I was curious about the payouts and penalties for the Uni careers, so I spawned the chance card tester with debug mode and went through the chance card dialogs. I also learned that not every level has a chance card.

Didn't get it, but it makes sense that he should ask for help a colleague, than buy from the cheap store - cheap makeup is waste of money.

Hehe, so what did you choose? I can't imagine asking a co-worker to put some cover-up on my ass.

That's hilarious! I've had quite a few uni cards and they've been really good (or at least entertaining). There's one in the top Art track where you're having a business lunch and get stuck with the bill, I chose to pay and got 100k as a reward! Whooot!

I was so busy laughing and snapping a screen shot then calling my daughter down to read it, I think I actually passed on the question!
I think one of the choices should be don't worry about it, that's what post production is for, besides wouldn't the showering remove the makeup?
So I guess Seth is mooning everyone...go Maxis!

Well actually, you'd be surprised how many actors are extremely shy. A lot of them purposefully become actors so they can try to overcome their shyness. When they're playing a role, they can become totally different people in their own minds and thereby not be shy until they revert to their own personalities. Psychology, you know.

Slightly off topic, but I find it interesting that so many haven't played the UNI careers. I got that chance card once and I too was laughing like mad.

I usually get bored with UNI, so I have been cheating and picking UNI careers for my CAS adults lately. So I haven't played too many of the UNI careers yet. So many Sims, so little time!
I'm glad to hear others have seen this one too.

I've really never played Uni, so as a result I've never gotten a Uni career. I will do it this go-round though!

I don't like the college too much, but it's very interesting to begin with the college - even to make two CAS sims at the beginning, and to add to them all the pre-made students - then to move all of them to the neighbourhood.
Just now I play Academie Le Tour, and moved to private houses Johnah and Roxie, Edwin and Delila O'Feefe, Mitch and Marla Biggs, and Max with my CAS sim. I have too my first couple CAS made, and all of them are going to graduate and move to my neighbourhood. It happens that the pre-made sims are more ambicious than the CAS sims, and all their thoughts are about getting the Dean List, and graduate Suma Cum Loude.
I hate to begin a hood with adults - I want the new carreers of Uni all the time. I even have a hack (don't use it too much), which enables pre-made sims to get any carreer he wants. I tried it just once, on General Buzz. Worked very good.

I tend to make adult CAS's in downtown or the hood then send thier kids to UNI. I have a bad habit of sending too many at once I think, like 10 kids plus a few of the townie teens then add in the more interesting UNI students. I enjoy pairing them off and all but get bored rotating between the dorms, so back to the hood to make more babies!

Actually I do take quite a few of my Sims through Uni, but then so that their hard work will pay off I usually look at their life want. Usually it is to reach the top of one of the pre-Uni careers, such as Chief of Staff or something. What can I do?

I use Jeff's College Adjuster to let them take their exams when they're ready. And to skip one year. That makes it bearable. I prefer dorms because of the food flow. Visitors stay longer because of that too. And dormies to do their term papers. Unless you're a pro with chaos, stay away from the big dorms. The time it takes for your sim to reach any given object is excruciating. (Why is there so much space?) And the constant flow of dormies, the dirty bathrooms, broken showers, pranks, fights, cows...I couldn't take it.
Oh yeah, if you influence someone to clean in a dorm when the cook is there they may get stuck washing plates that's just been served.

So this chance card came up at level 2 of the show biz career. The only way it would ever come up in the game is if you cheat to get the career. If you went through college first it would start you at a higher career level! Interesting... Makes me think of The Emperor's New Groove "why do we even have this lever".
Inge - I would cheat and and roll a different lifetime want, I am so bored with the original careers.

The career wants are still a lot easier to achieve than things like have 1000 kids. Aren't there any wants existing with regard to the Uni careers?

No, there's no wants relating to actually going to Uni. Only the "send three kids to college" want. I guess they didn't want to force people to have to send their Sims to Uni or some such malarkey. But it's better to force them to have a bazillion babies? Anyway, Inge, now that you're here, and we're talking about LTW's...I saw in SimPE the section for wants, and specifically when I checked the LTW's related to a certain number of actions (woohoo 20 Sims for example), that the field was changeable. I did change the number, but I never checked it in the game to see if it worked or not. Does this work to change the value of the LTW?

None that I know of , which is really annoying since they added LTW's in UNI. Instead of free Maxis Christmas stuff why don't they give us new wants and more likes and dislikes! My favorite LTW is max all 7 skills.
