I have been using both, since JM said it was ok.  No BFBVS yet.  And no sign of the gypsy or Mrs. Crumplepants lately either, which is just fine with me.

She's the only elder in the game who isn't all droopy, she has an appropriate scowl and demeanor...she's perfect for him.  It's too bad she's not a whacked NPC or I'd set up his elder Sim-self with her.

Oh, thank you Great One!  I have had it with that stupid gypsy showing up EVERY time I move a family to a bigger home.  Getting tired of the "Some visitors have come to greet you" as well.  Nice for new couples, a real pain for a full family who is already bringing home too many people.  Need to find that other mod...

I'm of the opinion that the Gypsy is actually a pimp in drag...Why else would you pay her (IT)  to hook up with another sim.
