Endless Supply of Nannies

Patched IP - playing in Sunset Valley. My poor sims can't fire or dismiss their nannies, new ones keep spawning endlessly. Deleing them not working, death doesn't kill them, locking them in to freeze to death results in them resetting offworld and coming back as quick as their simmy legs can carry them.

I've had a look through my mods to see if there's anything pertaining to nannies that could cause this, but due to broken glasses (and a month-long wait to get them replaced) I'm not doing so great. So if you know of any search terms I might have missed, please suggest them.

Yes, all of my mods are updated for the new patch - or at least they said they were when I downloaded them afresh.
