My sim recently moved-in her fiance (burglar NPC), then good ol' butler decided he recognised him from his life of crime and called the cops. The cops then warn me via pop-up to be careful because burglars are dangerous. When the cop arrives, I get a fine and a lecture not to prank call the police also via pop-up. Butler is doing this on a daily basis and I've taken to cancelling the action when I notice him going for the phone.
I found a few people complaining about this issue (having their butler call the fire department in some cases, so maybe it's nothing to do with my burglar, but the police pop-up message makes me think it's relevant). Is there a way to get the butler to stop recognising the burglar as a threat? Only hacks I use are the Director's Cut so I'm guessing this is a game bug?

You could use SimPE to remove the ex-Burglar's NPC-type, I suppose.

Before I download SimPE and potentially destroy my game by clicking on things before I know what they do, is this as idiot-proof as unchecking a box?

You just have to change the NPC type number to match that of your regular playables. Hard to screw that up catastrophically I think.

Probably too late to help the OP but No Butler NPC Harassment might fix this problem. Or it might not. It's been so long since I played I don't remember how my mods work anymore. In other news, this thread made me realize that mod had been incorrectly posted so has been invisible to everyone but me for nearly two years. My fairly useless Apocalypse Fridge has been similarly misposted for over five years. |
