Help Getting This Game to Run On Ubuntu

I'm new to Ubuntu in general, but have never even attempted to install a game on it before. I have followed the instructions and whatnot, but the game will not run. I have attempted to install several no cd cracks, but none of them produce anything, but an error log. If you can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

It doesn't need a no-CD crack.  AwesomeMod or Twallan's no-CD mod will work on Ubuntu as well as they do on Windows.

If you have an ATI card, make sure the Catalyst driver is the newest one available at AMD; at least under Wine, it doesn't like the proprietary driver in Ubuntu Natty at all for Sims 3.  I am not sure if it will run well enough to play in Ubuntu, nor if FPS Limiter + 3booter work (I need to try harder), but with Wine, a proper install, and a no-CD mod (not crack), it does run.

Thank for the tip. It must be my ATI card because I already tried running the game with awesomemod installed and I got nothing. I will give it a shot tomorrow and update.
