Shouldn't there be patches for each EP and SP? I noticed the update notes mention them, but I haven't seen links to anything other than the base game patch.

Could we be so lucky that EAxis managed to release one file that will actually update ALL installed EP/SPs, and not just the base game?

Ea couldn't be bothered to code it's way out of a paper bag. The Pc patch only does base and Generations. The incrementals are only available for the Mac right now, which is a total WTF move BTW. Really Ea? Really? Or at least thats what the US site says.

So the cumulative patch updates all the EPs, then? I have a region 2 copy of WA and the rest are region 1, so will that cause a problem?

Patch doesn't change shit about the expansions or stuff packs. EAxis is too lazy to fix them, even when Bridgeport has been bugged since release because of the routing issue. Seriously, it seems once EAxis releases an expansion they throw down one patch to fix what was broken at release then never look back at it.

So the cumulative patch updates all the EPs, then? The new 1.22 patch didn't update my EPs or SP. I need to find a manual patch, wasted my time with that huge download.

From what I have read, the patch apparently really fucked the game on Macs, which is probably why they got the incrementals. The new 1.22 patch didn't update my EPs or SP. I need to find a manual patch, wasted my time with that huge download.
I am holding off until the Patcher from MTS gets updated (if it does) to work properly for the new EP and patches. At the moment it doesn't see the new patches, and the creator has indicated that there are problems with it due to the way EAxis changed things this time. Given it is EAxis we are talking about, nothing really surprises me anymore, I don't even expect the EP/SPs and/or patches to be trouble free or to actually fix things like they should.

How bizzare that only the Mac version has the individual patches... I wonder if it's something to do with the change to "TS3W.exe"?

This is what I was wondering.
The cumulative patches never update most of the version numbering, for whatever reason, but it certainly updated the EPs (going by its progress report). It seems some of the other executables are "downgraded" to 29kb files now, and that incremental patches may not be necessary now we have One Exe to rule them all. This would certainly make the whole patching ordeal less ridiculous.
EDIT: Aha! It seems Generations/1.22 installs new executables in "The Sims 3\Game\Bin\Packs" (including a mysterious "TS3SP04.exe" added by 1.22) and that these are controlled by "TS3W.exe". Guess there really is only need for one patch from now on. There also appears to be a new authentication system in place.

Gi I love how they always blame third party mods and cc right away.
Customer service people have to assume people are drooling morons because a lot of people are drooling morons. That's why you always get the lowest common denominator checklist of troubleshooting when you call any kind of Customer Support: "Is it plugged into the wall? Did you actually go to the outlet and check? Is the other end of the cord -- the one not plugged into the wall -- plugged into your computer?" Don't forget it's the BBS, where people actually pass out when they write big comments because they forget to breathe while they type.

Note: Installing third-party software changes actual files in The Sims 3. Deleting the unsupported content will not erase the modifications to the game that the software installed. [/quote] I don't believe this.

That's more like a half truth. You need to delete the cache files as well, not uninstall the damn game.

What was the version numbers for Generation level? I mean, before 1.22/2.16/3.12/4.9/5.7/6.4/7.2/8.0, I know the base game is 1.21 but what are the numbers for the other EPs?

Game seems unstable here - crashes regularly with exceptions errors thrown at me. (Mac OS X).
I'm trying to make a new Electronic Arts-folder, and then playing from that so there won't be any old cache files making a mess for me - but how do I move over all the CC I have installed through the launcher? I'm not really interested in downloading that again, and I don't want to play without it either. Which folder contains those files?

I install the patch but make no difference in my game. I lost all the interactions with another sims after installing the Generations expansion. I read somewhere that the changes (like the TS3W.exe ) is to make the game going "faster" and the patches folder is to organize the objects inside the game, just like the TS2.

Losing interactions is from a out of date core mod. Remove your mods dipshit.

I think I screwed up. I was trying to update (I thought I had the newest update, but clearly I didn't), and I forgot to back up my TSLHost.dll file. Is it possible to find this somewhere, or do I have to reinstall Generations in order to get it back?

How many threads are you going to shit in with your request? Why not just reinstall fucking generations, be quicker than waiting for someone to send you a file for fuck sake.

Thanks, but in my insanity and stupidity I uninstall and install all over again without any mods. Nothing seens to fix the issue. It's very annoying...

Just two threads, don't worry. Also, I just reinstalled Generations, and it didn't change the TSLHost.dll file.. I'm not sure if it's because I left the cracked one untouched in the folder, so I'll try to remove it again. And anger issues much? Second edit: No, I removed Generations, removed my cracked TSLHost.dll, and it didn't put it back. No luck there, so I either have to reinstall the entire game and find all my CC (I have a decent amount as .sims3packs), or wait for a few hours (while I'm asleep) for a decent human being to upload a pure, vanilla TSLHost.dll to help someone out a great deal by doing a 1 minute job. I will be grateful if anyone wants to help me out, that's for sure.

Just because you uninstalled and reinstalled the game doesn't mean your mods were removed. You have to remove them manually. It's a mod conflict. Why doesn't anybody that comes here for help ever fucking listen?

By "decent human being", of course, you mean some bleeding heart to rescue you from your own laziness. Go buy the game if you fail at ARRing so much.
