There's a new update out. I'm waiting to install it, though. Here's what it says it includes:
New Features
· Sims that drive extensively can now develop a relationship with their vehicles. Vehicles can be named once a friendship is formed.
· The Vehicle Enthusiast Trait is now available. Sims with this trait can name their vehicles immediately and develop relationships with them more quickly.
Base Game Updates
· Fixed an issue where ghosts could become stuck in vehicles under certain conditions. Ghosts will now properly exit vehicles after arriving at their destination.
· Nameable items can only be named when they belong to the active household.
World Adventures Updates
· Career titles for Sims visiting Egypt, France and China will now display in the Relationship Panel tooltips.
The Sims 3 Create a World
· Create a World users need to install a new version of The Sims 3 Create a World Tool. Users can find the Create a World page from the "Games" drop down in the site header.

Only Base is valid. Ah, my bad. Now we just have to wait for AwesomeMod. Should be simple right? I mean this patch barely does ANYTHING. FUCK it says invalid file found on the WA patch when it gets to TS3EP01.exe AND the High End Loft Stuff patch has a 404 error. Try this:

This one doesn't appear to lead to a valid link. I can't see anything wrong with the URL - is the new patch number correct?

That works, ta. You may want to modify your original post so people don't keep telling you forever that it doesn't work.

Uninstalling everything and manually patching from the links found @ MTS. Maybe that'll stop the damn Invalid problem i'm having.

Invalid File is a mismatch error, the setup verify the hash of the core files, if any does not validates with the original ones, this error is thrown.
Since it stops at the executable I assume you have an arr'ED copy? If so, replace the executable with the original one.

It did work for me. I think the patches should be installed base game first and the EP/SP in order they have been released.

Nope, my copy is retail and I use the disc. Uninstalling everything and manually patching from the links found @ MTS. Maybe that'll stop the damn Invalid problem i'm having.

I can't even play the unpatched basegame without any EPs or SPs without it saying 'Incompatible Data' or something like that. Not to mention that the game takes 40 minutes to install each fucking time...

Is the new SP out today? I was wondering why they'd update just to add a car lover trait, and then I remembered the upcoming SP was about vehicles.

FYI The region numbers are different for the the 1st two links vs the last two, Region 2 and region 1, easy to fix just change the the last number in the patch number to your region.

Just use the auto-patch-downloader thing. It works flawlessly, assuming it already knows there's a new patch.
Vehicle relationships are a cute idea. Makes it a little harder to toss the car you started with if your sim made buddies with it as a teen and gave it a name.

^^ It doesn't know about the patch yet. I'll wait for the patch downloader to notice the new patches 'cause I don't fancy losing an hour of my evening because the damned EA method left me half-patched like last time. Morons.

Looks like this patch changed the lighting again. It now render all the floor's shadows to be cast at every floor. Before it rendered only the current floor from below. Unfortunately they did not fixed the issue where lights you put yourself does not cast light at upper floors, onyl the current one. There are some gaps over where the shadow origins though, something to fix again.

Vehicle relationships are a cute idea.
Says the creep who enjoys making his sims have intimate relationships with family members. Dude, your idea of what is appropriate and "cute" is beyond fucked up.
