Nanny simply will not leave lot!

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

Alright, so this is a problem- the nanny won't go home despite being dismissed and the car waiting for her. I have all EP's 'cept for OfB- and all hacks are off MATY. My question- will moving them off the lot fix the problem? If not-HALP.

Once when I moved everyone out of a lot that currently had a nanny on it, when I moved them back in the nanny was apparently permanent and non-dismissable, but there were some other bad problems with that family, so who knows.  In any case, I've never had any problems getting rid of uncooperative NPCs just by deleting them with move_objects.  If the nanny van still doesn't leave, force an error and delete it.

I did force an error- but I should do so THEN delete? It won't permanently mess up the nanny?

AFAIK, deleting after forcing an error is functionally identical to just picking the object/sim/whatever up with move_objects and deleting it.  You really only need to force an error to delete something if you don't want to turn on move_objects, or if the object is difficult to grab for some reason.  You can't permanently mess up sims in TS2 by deleting them - it just resets them, and they'll be at the mailbox when you reload the lot if they're supposed to be there (i.e. because they are part of the active family).

So cancel the damn nanny and hire another one.  Are your portals borked?  Can other sims leave the lot?  If it's just that lot, move the family out at some point when the nanny isn't there and then back in again.

Someone who had a stuck nanny fixed it by Shooing her.  That somehow reset the "GO AWAY" portion of her coding.
