It's just like that gym with a few objects they uploaded awhile back. It's a library lot and a few objects.

SimPrograms posted some info on this that they found on the official forums. This is how EA added magic back into the game.

For the book of spells:

Click on it, the option is "Learn Spell"
Spell options are: Summon, Enchant, Summon Animale, Summon Acquainted and Mood Elevatus.

When you are learning a spell you get a "Makin Magic" moodlet, which lasts three hours. You can only cast spells when you have that moodlet, so once it runs out, you have to go back to the book of spells and "review spell." There also seems to be more spells than what is listed there because the person who posted on the official forums had his sim learn "Unleash Animale."

They haven't made any "Unleash Animale" animations for children so they do the creepy stretchy thing.

I really hope this isn't the extent of magic that they intend on putting in the game. That would be severely depressing.

I think I read somewhere that the Pets supernatural would be werewolves again.  It's still L&P at this stage.

Lady Ravendancer Goth's Book o' Spells will not work (decrapt or as package).

Does not work as in how? I have it in my game thanks to icantbebothered and had no trouble getting it to install, but the damn thing doesn't work as in, no sims can interact with it. I have tried to get my pre-existing family to cast spells but they bounce away from it. So I put the whole library into a new town and made a new family thinking it may help and the same thing happens.
I have searched and found a couple of people having the same problem but there doesn't seem to be a solution anywhere.

Do we know whether it works if purchased from the store and messes up once decrapified? I don't want to waste my money buying it if it comes broken from the store.

What is wrong with it? Non english Games may have wrong messages even if you get it from the Store.

I use sims3packs, I used the fix, it works. Packages that "fix" store stuff just need to be decrapped if you're using decrapped store stuff as sims3packs.

I don't have my game set up to use package files and don't really want to. I have my game running pretty good right now and I don't want to mess with anything. I may wait awhile to see if someone can fix the sim3pack to work properly. If they can't, I'll just buy it.

I looked for the Book of Spells available as a separate object in the Downloads thread, didn't see it. Do you want me to take the one I uploaded down?

This thread is fine, and I don't want you to take anything down. I was referring to the thread for downloads that I move the posts to. I was just getting a little confused as to what is directly from the store and what is not.

I might just move the spellbook back here with its fix until there is a fixed one available as a sims3pack. Just to avoid the inevitable bleats. It will slot in the thread at its original time and date though, so it will appear further back.

ETA: OK Now I am going blind and don't see the spellbook for download anywhere.
