Ambitions CTD when entering a lot

I installed ambitions yesterday removing cc.  I then added back in some to see how things went.  Started crashing to desktop when entering a lot and playing for a few minutes.  I uninstalled and reinstalled with no CC at all.  I am up to date on all patches.  I have not included any cc yet so it is a completely virgin and have no saved games.
 I can go in and edit the town and all but when I enter a lot to play it crashes to desktop within just a few minutes.

Sims 3 forums are down and I am not able to even email them to ask for help (not that they would answer).  Create a world also is borked like everyone elses.

I can't play at all and am not sure what to do.  This sucks balls!

CTDs are like STDs. It's everywhere, but people don't always see the signs.

There's also one about CAW probably nearby the CTD one. You could've saved yourself some time and read that too.

You need to set your DEP for Ambitions. Also, it wouldn't hurt to download CFF and set it to 2GB.
