Is it pathetic that I'm almost mostly excited for CASTable cielings, floor edges (oh god castable floor edges oh god), and light spreading off lot edges?

No longer will I have to finagle lights to be just so positioned and brightened that they don't create a lot edge seam...<3

With how often I build lots, even lots just for myself, that alone is a godsend. I would PAY five dollars for that one and only that one fix.

Plus the patch apparently adds custom content icons to downloads put in the new documents mods folder. Freaking yesssssssss

So the broken lighting is fixed? I know they probably won't get rid of the bloom (although I wish they would) but the messed up lighting really bothered me.

I still have close to 2 hours before my download finishes. I'm at 64% right now and I'm getting 600+ KB/s which is faster than most things I've downloaded in the past.

The light still only lights up one level. They don't light up the street and not across to neighboring lots.

I got my hopes up. I should've known that EA wouldn't fix anything properly. I just want the lighting to go back to how it was prior to WA.

Oh so the lighting only extends off the lot if there's terrain. Suddenly not as excited for that.

The percentage gets higher and higher, but the ETA stays the same. ;_; It's hell.

Worst part is once it finishes it likely won't have a crack.

I've just about given up on the torrent and decided to download it instead, before realizing I have no idea how to unpack an .nfo file. Apparently, I'm a retard.

All we have to do is move the items in the mod/packages folder to the new folder? With CASt floor edges, I guess I should remove the HP default recolor .package. Sounds exciting, just wish the lights work as they did before WA.

CASTable floor edges and cielings adds an entire new level of building to the game, for me. There are lots of things I'd avoid simply because I didn't want the horrible cieling or the edges of floor tiles (like balconies. I never build balconies because they look like shit.).

I keep losing seeders, am at 8 kB/s with an ETA of 6 days. Joy of joys.

This is with a usually impressive internet connection. Damn bad seeders!

So this torrent is pretty much everywhere now. That's the fastest 4.5GB's I've ever downloaded (TorrentSeed). I wonder if I should start fiddling with this install now, or wait til I have a bit more patience. I don't know how ALT + TAB'ing became so important to me, but I was pissed when it started crashing the game (HELS fixed it). I'm just hoping it's not broken anymore.

You'll need to make a new resource.cfg to go into the Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods folder. Not one outside.

All it does is point towards the \Package folder. Not sure if you can just put mods in the mods folder itself. I'd rather keep my stuff organized via the Packages folder personally

I'm so jealous of people with high speed. Even with this torrent being seeded everywhere, my ETA is a week and I'm still at 7.4%. I may just suck it up and buy the game, even though I can't really afford it.

I downloaded it from my binary newsgroups. Not free, but worth it since I get 1.5MB/s downloads.

So did I and I also agree that newsgroups are worth the cost. I had my game at around 5pm and it only took about an hour to download.
