Apartment Lot roads

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

I use a default replacement terrain to achieve a more old time-y aesthetic to replace the pavement/asphalt as seen here:

However when I make apartment lots, even if I change the pavement, I'll play the lot and the road will have changed back to its default tiling making this ugly effect:

So I ask, is there anyway to avoid this without using the glitchy apartment edit cheats (which seem to be VBTs)? Like, is there a way to make the replaced tiles *stick* when converting the lot to an apartment lot?

I suspect each apartment sublot regenerates the terrain, so you will have to repaint the road each time.

Repaint every time, or repaint once for each of the apartments?

But I thought editing apartment sublots was essentially a VBT?

Mostly, yes. You're doing something clearly nonstandard already, though.

Answer - repaint the road once for each occupied apartment, and it sticks. Presumably it would need doing again, anytime an apartment is emptied and re-leased.

I'm repeating my question. I'm well aware that you can repaint the road each time - I was asking if there was anything else I could do since it was a VBT as well as wondering what sort of consequence there may be from doing so. I wasn't just asking if it was possible.

Ah. Sorry, that's way beyond my code-cracking skills. Need a Pescado for that question.
