Problem when becoming a witch... Help!
« on: 2009 December 10, 20:26:52 »

Um... seems I have conflicts with custom contents or something... whenever my sims are being transformed into a witch or warlock, they are reset and nothing happened...

I got a log file here... With the first few statements:

THANKS THIS IS GREAT

1. This is the wrong way to post a log. Attach it.
2. Have you even tried locating the problem file? We are not here to do your work for you. Start with anything dealing with witches, effects, and custom skins.

Oops.. Sorry, log attached..

I've already tried everything I could... I disabled custom contents but the problem still persists... I guess it's due to some hack I installed into the Sims directories under Program File... I put them there so as to get rid of the CC asterisks, but most of them are object fixes only. So, I really have no idea what would have led to such a problem.

Once again, I point the blame squarely at tight pants.

I tried to remove all download from my Catalog\Bin and other folders such as Override, Skin, Object.... But the problem still persists... I am now thinking if this is caused by The Sims 2 Store... As I never updated that before...

BTW, the problem log said something about animiation. Is that I've got missing animations?  Huh Huh Huh

Oh yea, I haven't checked the custom skins... Almost forgot even if you've disabled CC in games, custom skins, walls, floors, terrains will still affect the game... Thx for the reminder.

UPDATE: Okay, now I'm pretty sure it's due to something from my Downloads folder. The problem's gone when I've completely removed everything from "Downloads". BTW, is there a way I can track down on which download has caused such a problem  Huh

Yes, it's called "binary search". For further details, see the FAQ.

You should be reasonably safe if you remove everything that is not in the Awesomeware director's cut.  The game works if the only mods included are awesome.  The problem is clearly the work of the non-awesome.  Remove non-awesome hacks and cc first and test.  The game should work.  Then you can use binary searching to find the actual offending hack.
