Rolling the pacifier - really necessary for couple's first child?

Sorry if this has already been discussed.  I know it's necessary to roll the pacifier to prevent children with identical personalities.  Is it technically necessary for the first child born?

No. The point is to prevent future children from having the exact same personality as the first spawn.

I usually do it anyway, in case I forget for the next child.

Don't worry too much though.  If you do get an identical personality you can modify it after the fact.
