Getting Slapped/Shoved for Telescoping

not everytime but often when i use the telescope, townies i left in low aspiration would spawn in the lot i'm playing and start slapping my sims, and they've never even met each other!  
so i killed roxie sharpe (the angry townie from academie neighbourhood) and then her roommate jonah powers who i also left in low aspiration started spawning.
anyone else get this glitch ?

Your sims are using the telescope in the daylight, I bet. It's not a glitch. If a sim uses a telescope in the daytime, they're effectively spying on other sims and one--always the same one until they die, as far as I know--will come onto the lot and slap the peeping tom.

So either don't do that, or look around for a hack that stops that behaviour. Probably Mod the Sims or Insim are your best bets.

I guess it also matters if your sims house has other houses in its vicinity, because my sims have used the telescope during the day and have never gotten angry peeped at townies. And their house was up on the hill where the giant waterfall is. I also don't have Awesome mod.

i don't think it has much to do with the ''vicinity'' of neighbhours, i was in bluewater and my angry townie came from the university neighbourhood.

Hmm well then I supposed not. I do think it's bit comical though. However it seems that many of these little comical bits put in by EA seem to constantly not be without conflicts :\

Why some Sims can look through the telescope in the daytime and not get slapped while others get a seemingly endless stream of Mortimer Goth/Lisa Ramirez/Vidcund Curious types has to do with Nice or Outgoing points, I forget which.  Extremely Outgoing or Mean Sims will use the telescope to spy on other Sims, which leads to slapping.  Sims who are less Outgoing or Mean (not necessarily Shy or Nice) will spy on THINGS rather than people, and won't get slapped.

Now you've got your answer (that this is normal behaviour, deliberately added to the game by EA), there are a couple of things that need to be pointed out to you.  Firstly, if you want to post here, you need to learn to use capital letters and punctuation appropriately.  If you continue to post without using them you can expect to be poked with pointed sticks.  Secondly, Roxie Sharpe and Jonah Power are not townies.  They are playable sims.  They may not be sims you created yourself, but that does not make them townies.

Why is everyone always so surprised that when their sims spy on other people with the telescope they get slapped?  You can see what they are looking at in their thought bubbles, and they clearly get pictures of sims when they are spying on sims.  I have had even 10-outgoing, 0-nice sims spend an hour staring at bushes when what I want is for them to make some more enemies, though.

IIRC, the neighborhood spyee is always the living playable with the lowest instance number, so if you turn them into a townie you'll get a new spyee as well.

I think you've also misunderstood the word "spawn", which refers to new things (in this case, sims) being created, not to existing ones just showing up somewhere.

I suspect the slapping Sim is the Sim with the lowest number --the one in the name of their character file--who is still alive in the neighborhood.  Hence the fact that it's Mortimer Goth in P'view, and was Eve Prime in one of my custom hoods.
