I already told you - unpack the sim from the sims3pack FIRST.  Do not install from the Sims3Pack if you don't want to.  Taking the sim into CAS again adds nothing of value.  But anyway, most of this stuff is old wives tales, or typical Pescado paranoia.

It doesnt come as a sims3pack.  

Just clicking the link comes up with:
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
Invalid at the top level of the document. Error processing resource 'http://www.simlogical.com/exacc/IngePudding/Jones.Sims...

and right clicking, it downloads as an XML Document file.

1. The Launcher is Evil. We will not accept Sims3Pack puddings here. Your Pudding should be submitted by zipping the .Sim file out of the SavedSims directory. Avoid the Launcher!

Yes, I am doing that, and as I said before, it comes up as a XML Document file

Let me guess, you're using IE? Use a real browser. One that asks you what it should do when it encounters files that have extensions that it is not aware of.

Is there anyone here who is so distressed by me linking to a .Sims3Pack on my site rather than uploading a .package as a thread attachment that they would like me to remove the links and close the thread?   Or are most people sensible enough to be able to cope?

Please let me know, and I will weigh up the situation when I have your responses

Actually, it was thought that you could have simply saved the CAS sim into the savedsims area from CAS (like everyone else), which would create a .sim file, not a .package file.  This .sim file could be saved directly to the thread.  Very easy.  This also makes life extremely simple for the downloader.  I mean, look at the number of posts in this thread where people experienced difficulties loading your sim.

To post a .sim file:

Find SimInge in game. Move her into a home.

Open the cheatbox and type "editsim Inge Jones". The Create A Sim screen should appear.

On the bottom of the screen, where her thumbnail is present, click the ellipses and there should be an icon for saving. Click it.

Quit game.

Enter "My Documents" or similar, then "Electronic Arts", "The Sims 3" and finally "SavedSims". Your sim should be there. The exact path will vary according to where the game stores userspecific information.

Upload and relink.

Ok so take her to a mirror then save and I get a saved Inge in Savedsims?  I will try.

Be sure you hit the "Save Sim" button while in the CAS mode, Inge. Saving the actual game after looking in the mirror will not have the same affect.

I used the tick both times but I am not experiencing any SavedSims folder either in My Documents or the Program Files hierarchy.
