After installing .sims3 pack with the launcher.. can I delete the files?

I copied lots of files into the Downloads folder, used the original sims3 launcher, installed.
All ok.
Now, do the files need to stay in the DL folder or can I delete them?
I`ve read some of you hate the launcher, but I`m new to DL`s for sims3.
Do you know
where
the launcher install the files?
Can`t see any in Mods/Packages

When you install downloads from the launcher, it bundles all the installed data into the dccache file. The sims3pack files in the downloads folder are just there for the launcher to slice and splice. You can safely delete them.

I actually recommend against doing that, although it isn't immediately harmful. DO, however, delete the "DCbackup" directory. Those files are totally useless and utterly unintelligible, serving absolutely no worthwhile purpose whatsoever.

When you install with the launcher, your files may go into three places. These files are in My documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.
Sims3packs go in Downloads, the files from the Sims3packs go into DCcache and DCbackup.

One day in college I was feeling very stupid. So I drove with Ben down to Maitland and toured EA Tiburon for an hour as an 'honorary intern'. I left feeling MUCH smarter. I recommend the experience to everyone. -this is a quote from an Ex-boyfriend of mine..
