Here's the thing: None of those options crash. The crashing is purely magic and apparently is triggered or suppressed purely by changing things. There is nothing the code there that would randomly crash: In fact, at the point you are crashing at, none of it is even running!
You seem to be right, even though that makes no sense to me.  I tried it with only DisableTraitCaps = False and it ran fine the first four times, crashed the fifth, ran the sixth, crashed the seventh.  I didn't even change one thing during that...  Deleting userPresets.package makes even less sense, I think you found the Bermuda Triangle of coding.

Oh. So that might be the reason why when I deleted the userPreset.package, the game started. It was the second time I reloaded the game.  Cheesy

It must a suggestive feeling of me, lol.  Grin

I must admit that I agree that it must be magically done by the game code. The game code seems to be blinded for a while after the Shiny AwesomeMod comes. It might be too shiny for them.  Tongue

Hm. I just updated to the latest awesomemod, and my game crashed while I was playing, not on startup. It's never done that before.

Ok, like Redwards I'm now getting CTD's about a minute into playing and that's after about 10 attempts to get it load. Voodoo jiggling not working any more. Trying a defrag now to see if that helps even though I defragged yesterday and the drive doesn't look fragmented. We'll see if this bit of voodoo magic has any effect. Might try standing on one leg and swearing at the thing next  Tongue

I have the exact same problem. My game crashes to desktop always when the game clock hits 01:00.

I have this version installed and it works fine, no crash. I just want to know if the 'lifetimehappiness' cheat has been removed? I keep getting 'unknown command'. I had been using this cheat with the previous versions.

Run the AwesomeMod Configuration Tool and enable EnableDebugCommands.  Save the generated aweconf.package to the same directory as your awesome.package.  You will now have access to the extended debug commands.

I created sub folders under /mods/packages/ and pointed the game there in resource.cfg or whatever it's called, and if I put AwesomeMod in there it doesn't load.  If I put it in /mods/packages it does.  Surely as long as the game can 'see' the folder it should load?  Incidentaly, all other mods from other people work where ever I put them.

Here's how to modify resource.cfg so that it will recognize subfolders:

Only thing that works now for me is to remove Awesome mod. No crashes on loading or in game.

I think my crashes in game were occuring at around 1 am also. I wasn't paying that close attention to the time but I'd saved at just before midnight and was crashing after only a few minutes into playing, so 1am rollover crash seems reasonable.

I'm also having crashes around 1:00 a.m. game time. Sim was fishing the first two times, sleeping the third time. I have been using the "maxmotives" cheat added by awesomemod.

This makes me unsure if to update to a newer version.


Or if I should stick with the old one (Which is working pretty fine, I guess) and wait until the problem is awesomesolved.

Hm. I just updated to the latest awesomemod, and my game crashed while I was playing, not on startup. It's never done that before.

1. Replaced original awesomemod with new awesomemod.
2. Got a crash on startup, added the enablescripterror package
3. Game started. Crashed 4 times during gameplay. Never made it through a full day with my sims. Crashed after about 15 minutes of real world time. I didn't notice a specific trigger before I switched back, but 2 of the crashes happened while all 4 sims were asleep, so it's likely the 1AM issue everyone else is reporting.
4. Replaced new awesomemod with original awesome mod.
5. No crashes yet, played through several sim days.

EDIT: The newest version of AwesomeMod, dated 6/7 10:41 PM, does not have the 0100 crash so I deleted the link.

Had the random "I made a change" crashes, made it into the game and... yup, 1am crash. Hardly fresh information, so basically, "Me too!"

I had the crash after about 15 minutes of game play as well. I have the most recent Awesome mod and the aweconf package as well as skins and some patterns but that is all. The earlier Awesome mod was fine for me. I am not sure it was 1 am though, probably more like 11 pm. The Sims were getting ready for bed. It has done this for me twice now about about the same time.

Thanks for the old version, Rothchild.  Just adding my $.02 about the 1am crash.  My game was working fine with it, other than a crash which would occur at startup when the cache files were removed.

None of the others crashed game. I didn't have to fiddle with anything to make it work. Now the new one crashes it every time. Once I remove it from the Folder no more crashes. Can I please have the old one back?

This isn't really a crash issue, but I can't get it to work. I've put it in the correct folders, installed the framework, and I don't have any other hacks. When I load the game, it loads normally, but the mod is not working. Has anyone else had this problem?

Mac report - retail version

The new awesome (+ aweconf) crashes on loadscreen, just before the dice icon appears. Purging all the caches doesn't help. Without aweconf, same crash. Crash 4/4 tries.

enablescripterror.package fixes and the game loads flawlessy.

Now testing the gameplay.

I had this exact issue with a retail verison on a Mac and solved it in the exact same way.  I don't know if this consistency is valuable or purely coincidence.
