Congratulations, JM. I cannot tell you how glad I am that you made this move.
(I can't TELL you, because I fear that you'd rip my lips off.)

I echo all the above. Pescado is a Simnational Resource. The world will always be a sadder place without sassiness and cussedness and that obstreperous word (ye gods I spelled it!). Pescado I'd buy you a very shiny tongue-extirpateror ... but I guess you already own your own

Yeah, I need a new one. I had a great pic that I was going to use, but I lost it in one of my recent clean-ups. I'll get something up soon. And I do like your picture.

Robotic Baby Harp Seal!

Welcome, Pescado et all! *makes happy humming noise* Practically everyone's here already. Feels like home. Whee.
Hmm . . . avatars . . . right. Can't decide. Should I go with the Robotic Baby Harp Seal or German Beer Advertisements with Genetically Engineered Duck/Rooster/aliens?
Decisions, decisions.

Glad to see this forum up, I used to go to vs primarily to check your forums. I dug out one of my rarely used lj avatars for this site, my usual geek me avatar looks much to cheery, besides I mostly *am* surrounded by idiots, most of the present company excluded of course

Robotic Baby Harp Seal!

Robotic seal it is, then. (And I'll take that as a compliment.)
It's called "Paro." Made by a robotics company in Japan, and intended as a companion to the elderly. It makes happy purring noises when you cuddle it, and makes angry noises if you abuse it.

Robotic Baby Harp Seal!

Okay, that was really, really funny. It is rather ridiculous, which is part of the reason I liked it so much when I read about it in an article on robots. It does make sense when you think about the fact that Japan is basically the worst country in the world in terms of elderly:not elderly population ratios, so the idea is that something that doesn't need to be fed can keep older people company.
It's still pretty funny, though. And I just like saying "Robotic Baby Harp Seal!"

Well, I suppose it still needs to be fed. After all, somebody's gotta change the batteries.

I'd have probably remained peeking over the fence, but was unable to resist acknowledging someone who actually knows how to use "mutable." So, thanks. Oh, and nice patches, too...
