Furious sim gone missing

Hello everybody!!!

I'm not sure if this is the right section, if it's not, sorry! I have a problem with my Sim family... the woman was living in her house with her 3 children, then she got married with this guy, but since she was mental they started fighting and he broke up with her. She got completely FURIOUS and ran away from her house, leaving her children and ex husband in tears. Now he's engaged to someone else but he keeps crying evry now and then, how do I get the woman to come back? I heard you can report a missing sim to the cops? She came back twice but only for a few seconds and then ran away again.
any advice?
ps ive got basic game and seasons installed. Thanks!!!!!

Sims can't be MISSING. If a sim broke up, one of them is in the sim-bin.

but is there a way to get them to come back to the lot?

PostUni, you can just merge them into any lot. Pre-Uni, you will have to do the rigamarole normally, or by Ingelogical shrub.
