setQuarterTilePlacement [on | off] After entering this cheat in the cheat window, you then turn quarter tile placement on and off using "Ctrl + F" anytime you are in Build or Buy Mode.
This "cheat" breaks up the grid into 4 sections letting you move objects closer together/centering them without having to do the boolprop snapobjectstogrid true/false command all the time.
It's really cool for decorating - looks like they are tying to emulate the quarter grids that are supposed to be in Sims 3?

This feature was included in... Pets? It's a carry-over.

Hmm, I thought the earlier cheat one was about floor tiles. This seems to be about objects.

Yes to clarify this is not the floor tile cheat from pets. This cheat will allow you to place objects 4 to a single grid (with moveobjects on) or move an object a 1/4 tile over. It is more like boolprop snapobjectstogrid false, yet still keeps them on grid. Its great for centering a 2 tile coffee table or TV with a 3 tile couch. It seems to work for most objects and sims still use them correctly such as toilets and sinks. Some objects will need tweeking - I tried to use it on a table and chairs and while it allowed me to move the table and chairs a 1/4 tile over, if the chairs are not still a grid apart it will leave the chair in a "pushed out" state. Rugs do not seem to be affected by this cheat. I had the cheat activated and was still only able to move them a full grid space. Here is a link to a video I made of it - you can see first the coffee table move with out the cheat, then with the cheat, then again with out. http://s128.photobucket.com/albums/p168/pandora4co/?action=view¤t=movie000.flv

Yes! About timne they did that. This will be very useful when centering sofas and tvs without having to turn the grid off.

This should be useful for centering objects, like that infernal fountain. I imagine many issues arising when used excessively though.

Does this work for rugs without borking the textures?

This cheat is a godsend. Especially for those coffee tables and wall decorations. No more fiddling with tiled floors to help centering objects. Does this work for rugs without borking the textures?
Alas, no. I think that's why EAxis disabled this cheat for rugs.

Delurking to share the dazzling fact that for some reason I can't use this cheat. I type it in, I even copy-pasted it from the readme, but all it gives me is this:
ERROR TSCheatSystem: ERROR IN CHEAT: Expecting at most 1 arguments in command 'setQuarterTilePlacement [on | off] '. OnErrorClearParserTempState called. with command setQuarterTilePlacement [on | off] .\source\TSCheatSystem.cpp(68)
I got nuthin'.

I'm going to err on the side of "Pathetic Fucking Moron" and guess that you typed "setQuarterTilePlacement [on | off]" when anyone intelligent enough to live would have recognised that "|" means "or" and "[]" mean "select one of the options in the brackets", leading said intelligent person to type "setQuarterTilePlacement on" to turn it on and "setQuarterTilePlacement off" to turn it off. Am I right?

Nope, you're wrong. I tried it every way possible. Didn't work. May have to learn to live without.

Did you press "Ctrl + F"? It did not work for me before I did that.

Yes I did, although the attempts were pretty futile since I keep getting the error message anyway. My game just doesn't recognize it, for some retarded reason. I think I might try a reinstall, see what it does.

Do you have Mansion& Garden staff? EDIT:Well, actually if it says: ERROR TSCheatSystem: ERROR IN CHEAT: Expecting at most 1 arguments in command 'setQuarterTilePlacement [on | off] '. OnErrorClearParserTempState called. with command setQuarterTilePlacement [on | off] .\source\TSCheatSystem.cpp(68)
you must have it, since it does recognize the need for an argument. Can you say what error do you get after you enter: "setQuarterTilePlacement on"? (copy/paste without quotes)

Four sections ? I count sixteen ! Or, I really should wear glasses.
