Why don't you just have an alias for individualRoofSlopeAngle and roofSlopeAngle?  As you have to type the figure anyway, it's not all that much different to just have an alias for the cheat and stick a (Space, value) on the end. In my userstartup I have:

So I type irsa 42 for a 42 degree slope.

Where is the annoyance?  I don't see the necessity of it.  I don't have that line in my .cheat file, but it still works.  I thought it was a basic keyboard control feature.  It has not changed through all EPs in my game.  I use it all the time without noticeable irritation.

Interesting - well, it disappeared from my game well over a year ago - probably more like two.  It really annoys me that I can't use it and have to use 'P' instead.  Maybe it's a European-version of the game thing?  I think Witch is British like me?  Which might explain why she has that cheat in her userStartUp.cheat file?  /speculation.  No idea really but I can't pause the game with that key.  Maybe it's something to do with key mapping on European keyboards which are slightly different than American ones.

which enables maximum usage of floor space under shallower roof angles when placing attic room walls. As the angles are not rational numbers the slope matching is not 100% perfect, but it is good enough for most purposes ... one rarely wants to photograph roof tiling in close up.

This definitely works- I use it all of the time. It also works for any other cheat that requires numerical input- for example:

Type 'ff smith 20000' to set the Smith family fund to 20,000 simoleons in hood view. The spaces are important, though. Nice trigonometry!

I have looked on the site and did not see my problem with the changelotzoning community that I am having. Sorry if this a repeat or not in the right area. I have all the EP up to FreeTime and this cheat is not working for me. I made a resident home and would like to change it to community. I have done it with the word like this changelotzoning community and like this changeLotZoning community.

If you type any character that is not a coorect alias/ command the cheat window will expand. The tilde isn't aliased in the globalstartup.cheat file, at least not in the UK version.

I didn't mean, tilde should be keyed in followed by pressing Return key. Just pressing tilde key expands/contracts the cheat console. Similar to how the console windows of several FPS games behave. I'm using the UK version of the game.
