I broke it with a newspaper (with error log)

I have everything up to and including AL, and the latest in JM fixiness.

New sim, new apartment building, goes to get newspaper: that dreaded "Oops! You broke it!" error.
Here's the log.

Did he 'jump' out of the task? Was his route blocked? Was the paper unselectable? Did a sudden Rain of Fire destroy the paper before he could reach it? Insufficient description is insufficient.

Lessee. She picked up the newspaper, turned towards the house, and an error box appeared, and I was unable to do anything except pause and back out of the house without saving. No jump, no unselectable, just error box and stop.

Were you using a cheat to select the job you wanted from the newspaper? It's possible that cheat is broken in AL. The action string table would appear to have a missing entry, judging from the error log you posted.

Were you using a cheat to select the job you wanted from the newspaper? It's possible that cheat is broken in AL. The action string table would appear to have a missing entry, judging from the error log you posted.

Getting a job from the newspaper with the testingcheat was broken since Freetime.

Did you shift-click on the newspaper in debug mode (boolprop testingcheatsenabled true) to select a specific job? That's what SimWardrobe and Havelock are referring to, not to a hack.

That's very good to know. And in testing the situation again, I tried with testingcheats and without, and the issue was in fact testingcheats.
